About Thermotron

With over four decades of experience, Thermotron has evolved into one of the world's premier suppliers of high-performance environmental test equipment, screening and simulation equipment, vibration test systems and functional test systems and integration. We have had the privilege of working with some of the world's greatest companies in a range of industries, developing test equipment for a variety of testing requirements.

Thermotron was founded in 1962 by Charles F. Conrad, an entrepreneur and engineer who spent the early part of his career working on the development of high-performance refrigerant systems. Conrad also worked with government and commercial engineers to develop MIL-STD 781 and 810D under the supervision of the Advisory Group on Reliability of Electronic Equipment (AGREE). With his wealth of knowledge and experience, Conrad began Thermotron as a designer and manufacturer of Thermo-Electric heat transfer devices using space age semi-conductors for heat transfer by electron action.

Since that time our product line and our company have grown to encompass many other areas of product and environmental testing. In the early 1970s, Thermotron began developing its own instrumentation and controllers and expanded the company into the Asian markets. In 1977, Thermotron entered into the shock and vibration industries with the development of robust electrodynamic vibration test equipment. Our Thermotron European Subsidiary, Thermotron UK opened its doors in 1979 and has continued to be our European headquarters for direct sales and service. The 1980s marked further expansion into Environmental Stress Screening and Product Test Solutions industries and advanced, microprocessor based controllers. Our product line has also grown to include Accelerated Stress Testing chambers capable of performing HALT (Highly Accelerated Life Test), HASS (Highly Accelerated Stress Screen), Step Stress Testing, and other accelerated stress testing methods.

Today, Thermotron employs the largest application, service and design engineering support staff in the industry. Using the precepts of quality to grow and continuously improve our company, we always strive to meet or exceed the expectations of our customers. Our record of achievement comes from an unwavering focus on a few simple goals: identify customer needs, produce superior testing equipment and offer comprehensive service.

Products

From electronics and automotive components to military hardware and sophisticated telecommunications equipment, Thermotron has developed an extensive range of applications and capabilities. Out of this experience comes an equally broad range of environmental test solutions capable of temperature and humidity cycling, thermal shock, product stress screening, accelerated stress testing systems for HALT and HASS, combined environmental testing, controlled humidity exposure, altitude simulation and vibration testing.

Beyond its ability to furnish environmental test equipment, Thermotron's Product Test Solutions group offers comprehensive solutions to meet total product testing needs including system integration, automatic test systems, functional test systems or unique custom designs.

If our standard equipment doesn't suit your testing needs, we will gladly custom design a solution for you.

Thermotron is one of the industry's only manufacturers that design and manufacturers its own easy to use instrumentation systems for environment chambers and vibration test systems. We do not use general purpose controllers for this function. They can be difficult to program and do not provide meaningful capabilities and features that are important to the environmental test professional. We also provide a host of software products for centralized control, data logging, and product testing solutions.
