8800 Data Acquisition (DAQ)
For years, Thermotron has been offering state-of-the-art environmental test chamber controllers unlike any other on the market. With a brilliant 12-inch color touch screen display, Thermotron's 8800 Programmer/Controller is unrivaled. Yet, somehow we've managed to make it even better! Thermotron's newest chamber advancement, the 8800 Data Acquisition unit (DAQ) greatly increases the 8800's capabilities for product monitoring, control, and data collection without the need for additional software or test equipment.
Available in several configurations depending on chamber application, the 8800 DAQ reduces development time and cost because it is a completely designed and programmed custom test system for data collection and control tasks. Standard SE-Series chambers now come with three digital and two analog outputs as well as one additional thermocouple input, all configurable through the 8800 display. Digital outputs allow manual or programmed profiles that activate product inputs or relays, turning a product on and off based on interval, chamber data, or status information (for example, operating mode, current temperature, or current humidity level). The analog outputs can be used to activate a programmable power supply or product inputs, or they can retransmit temperature/humidity readings to a chart recorder. An additional thermocouple input can also be monitored, recorded, and viewed on the DAQ Connections screen and trend graphs.
Thermotron also offers expanded capabilities for the 8800 DAQ. Additional analog and digital inputs/outputs or thermocouple inputs are available on almost all 8800-controlled equipment. The available options include eight analog input channels, two analog output channels, and 12 user-configurable digital input/output channels. These input/outputs further enhance the 8800 by activating product inputs and relays or changing chamber operation modes. Also available are eight additional thermocouple inputs to monitor and record additional temperatures.

All data collected from the 8800 DAQ can be viewed on the 8800 display. The new DAQ tab offers simple setup of the desired channels. Setup wizards allow for configuring units, resolutions, average factors, high and low limits, as well as notes with simple, step-by-step instructions. Digital readouts show the status of active channel conditions.
Thermotron's new 8800 DAQ not only adds to the capabilities of new chambers but is also available as an aftermarket upgrade for most existing 8800-controlled chambers.
