Ideal for performing Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT) on small products, subassemblies or components, Thermotron's AST-8 combines excellent performance with a small footprint. With a patented multi-axis vibration table and rapid thermal change rate system, the AST-8 provides the ideal environment for optimizing product designs.
The compact size and portability of the system permit the AST-8 to conveniently pass through standard 36-inch (91 cm) door openings. Its small footprint also makes the AST-8 ideal for test areas that are short on space. Because of its small size, the AST-8 uses significantly less liquid nitrogen (LN2), compressed air, and electrical power than larger HALT & HASS systems, reducing utility consumption and operating costs.
Capable of imparting extreme thermal stresses, the AST-8 has high rates of temperature change in excess of 50°C per minute. An air slot and adjustable ducts allows the user to configure high volume, high velocity airflow in order to maximize thermal stress directly on the product, accelerating product failure rates.
The AST-8 features a 16" x 16" (40cm x 40 cm), multi-axis, repetitive shock vibration table capable of producing acceleration levels in excess of 50 grms. This patented vibration system provides consistent power spectral density energy over a broad frequency range.
The AST-8800 control system's intuitive graphical user interface makes the AST-8 easy to use. The 17-inch flat panel monitor displays power spectral density, temperature and acceleration data on easy-to-read screens. The controller is Ethernet-compatible and web-enabled with an internet-ready front end for virtual anytime/anywhere access.
