The Telcordia Test Module is designed to accomodate rack-mounted telecommunications gear. This particular enclosure has been developed for a major manufacturer of fiber optic switching equipment and interfaces with Thermotron's SE-600-6-6 Chamber through the Universal Port.

Working together, Thermotron and the customer teamed up to provide a solution to test a 450 pound chassis fully loaded with boards, having dimensions of 17" wide x 19" deep x 54" high, between 55°C and -5°C.

The company that purchased this equipment makes multiplexing systems that increase the capacity of long-distance fiber-optic telecommunications networks. They sell platforms for long-distance optical transport and switching as well as shorter distance and metropolitan network transmission.

This enclosure can be used for a variety of testing applications including products in the test and measurement industry, different types of consumer electronics products, computers and peripherals. There is also a possibility of incorporating heaters in the plenum and dampers in the side wall to make the enclosure perform rapid temperature transitions.

Features of the Data Storage Test Module:

• Double doors for quick product pass-through.
• 8800 Programmer Controller will utilize the Product Temperature Control thermocouple to control conditions inside the Telcordia Test Module.
• Power for the module comes directly from the SE Chamber.
• Cable slots in the floor for easy wiring access.
• A 3" x 8" rectangular port provides additional access to the products under test.
• Application specific air flow forces conditioned air to pass through products from bottom to top.
• 19" wide rack-mounted instruments fit comfortably inside the 28" wide x 28" deep x 68" high workspace.
• Industry standard open-mount rack hardware can be easily adapted to the chamber interior.
• An integral push bar allows the module to be safely and easily moved into interface position.
• Flexibility to use the SE Chamber as a stand alone test chamber.
• The Telcordia Test Module can be combined with pre-existing SE Chambers.
