Vibration
Vibration testing is performed for a variety of reasons: to determine if a product can withstand the rigors of its intended use environment, to ensure the final design will be suitable for shipment, or in order to weed out product defects.
Since 1977, Thermotron has been a global leader in high-performance vibration test equipment. Innovative thinking and deep rooted commitment to customer service have kept us in the Shock and Vibration Industries for 30 years. We were the first to introduce a low profile electrodynamic shaker to interface with environmental chambers. We were the first to use switching (Class D) amplifiers making our shakers more efficient and reliable than previous linear amplifiers. Thermotron was the first to use microprocessor-based dynamic centering on our shakers. We are also the only manufacturer in the industry that manufacturers all components needed to create a combined environmental test facility including the chamber, shaker, amplifier and all of the integrated control systems and software, as well as sliptables, head expanders and fixturing.
Today we continue this tradition of innovation with the development of the high performance DSX series of electrodynamic shakers. The DSX series shakers are available in four different capacities and features highly durable, lightweight magnesium armatures and optical sensor-based dynamic centering to ensure the armature stays true to its course. Thermotron has also created the new RSL repetitive shock vibration table. This shaker features high energy content at frequencies below 2,000 Hz, provides better table uniformity for accurate test results in all quadrants and consistent energy axis to axis ensure similar stress in all axes. Thermotron shakers are controlled by our exclusive VCS-3200 vibration control system. Updated for Windows XP®, VCS-3200 software is available for accurate sine, random, shock, resonant search and dwell, real data acquisition and playback (RDAP), random-on-random and sine-on-random capabilities.
