Continuity Monitoring System
The Continuity Monitoring System (CMS) is designed to detect solder and connection
faults due to solder cracks, solder degradation, contact degradation,
misalignment, and oxidation, typically made with accelerated stress testing
equipment. The CMS will simultaneously monitor for discontinuities and measure
and record resistance for up to thousands of channels in parallel. Discontinuity
detection (event detection) of intermittent solder joint and connection failures
as short as 100ns can be captured. The Continuity Monitoring System is designed
to also measure and log resistance for trend analysis and validation of hard
failures. The provided software uses a graphical user interface for test
configuration, control, and display of test data. Tests can be easily
synchronized to temperature cycling and vibration profiles.
