Mid-Sized Accelerated Stress Test System (AST-18)
It takes up less floor space, uses less liquid nitrogen, requires less compressed air, and consumes less electricity - four advantages to the new AST-18/RS-28 Accelerated Stress Test System by Thermotron. The AST-18 system can show in just hours how a particular product will hold up after years of use, reducing product development time and helping to get higher quality products to market faster. It provides a cost-effective and more affordable alternative to newcomers to Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT) techniques.
The AST-18 applies extreme stress onto products through ultra high rates of product temperature change, and repetitive, shock multi-axes vibration. It's portability may be just the ticket for companies with smaller facilities or for those testing smaller products. Heavy duty casters make moving the AST-18 into and throughout the facility easier.
The AST-18's control instrumentation has been designed specifically for extreme change rate chambers and repetitive shock vibration systems. The PC-based programmer/controller offers versatility and a timesaving library of pre-programmed step stress and accelerated stress test profiles. Sophisticated reliability software packages are available for analysis of accumulated fatigue damage, transmissibility, and peak probability distribution.
SE-1504: New Environmental Test Chamber Allows For Easy Testing Of Wider Products
Created for customers in need of workspace that is wider than it is deep, the new SE-1504 by Thermotron, features interior dimensions of 60"W x 40"D x 38"H, with a bi-parting access door. The new SE-1504 has an ergonomic loading configuration that allows products to be easily placed inside of the chamber without extending past arm's length.
The SE-1504 boasts wide temperature and humidity ranges: -70°C to +180°C and 10% to 98% relative humidity. Application-specific compressor selections from 3 to 15 Hp allow you to tailor a chamber performance to meet individual testing needs.
The chamber features Thermotron's 8800 Programmer Controller with touch screen interface. The 8800 offers a brilliant 12" color touch screen display, Ethernet-compatibility and web-enabled front end for virtual anytime/anywhere access.
The design of the SE-1504 allows for easy loading of wide products such as automotive dashboards and headlamp assemblies, solar panels, wide screen LCDs, and appliances.
SE-3000: Environmental Testing System for Longer Length Products
Thermotron is proud to announce the SE-3000, a modified version of the popular SE-2000 chamber specially designed to test long products.
The SE-3000 is 2 feet deeper than the original SE-2000 with a workspace measuring 48"W x 72"D x 52"H. The new chamber features an additional circulation fan, insuring good airflow to help prevent "hot spots" on the product during in-test current biasing. The SE-3000 has an overall temperature range between +180°C to -70°C and a humidity range from 10% and 98% RH. The SE-3000 also features an optional universal port on the side to allows access for wiring as well as future integration of testing equipment.

Thermotron Attends NI Technical Symposiums
Throughout the months of October, November and December, representatives from Thermotron will be traveling around the country participating in the National Instruments 2006 series of Technical Symposium Professional Development Series for Engineers. According to NI, the symposium is designed to help engineers to be "up-to-date on the latest technologies to improve quality and reduce costs" in order to remain competitive. The symposiums offer in-depth technical sessions as well as compelling key note speakers and presentations at each event.
Thermotron representatives will be traveling to cities including Cincinnati, Detroit, Boston, Seattle and even Toronto, Canada for the events (for a complete schedule of symposium events and locations go here). If you will be at a symposium event, be sure to stop by the Thermotron booth and register for a chance to win a Leatherman multi-tool that will be given away at each event. See you there!
